Celebrating National Doctors’ Day

AVRTC Open House 2018 2794

We don’t need any reminders that we work with some of the best doctors around, but we’ll take Doctors’ Day, a national holiday observed every year on March 30, as another reason to celebrate the contributions of neighboring physicians and their staff.

Treating cancer is greater than any one doctor or anyone practice. We are thankful for every doctor for their ongoing role in the fight against cancer and keeping Alaskans healthy. Together we can make a difference in the lives of people across the state.

To give a big thank you to Anchorage doctors, we had an early Doctors’ Day celebration at Alaska Regional Hospital. We got together with PET/CT Center of Alaska to host a morning networking event for our fellow doctors and their staff complete with crepes, coffee and good conversation.

Every doctor in our network and every member of their staff plays an integral role in getting Alaskans back to the things that matter most. Are you looking for ways to celebrate your favorite doctors on Doctors’ Day? Here are a few ideas:

Send a card

Mailing greeting cards is one of the best ways to show someone that you care. Write a nice note inside to let your doctor know how they’ve changed your life or helped you through hard times. If you’re going to see your doctor on March 30, you can even bring a handwritten card or note with you!

Get social with it

Everyone likes receiving nice social media notifications. Tag your doctor in a kind social media post or even leave them a nice review on their Facebook page so everyone else knows how great they are!

Give your doctor a red carnation

Red carnations represent love, charity and courage, qualities that all great doctors possess. Red carnations are the national symbol of Doctors’ Day so send your doctor a bouquet or, for something that will last longer, a nice carnation painting or photo that they can hang in their office.
